About Dr. Cherdack
Dr. Joel Cherdack is the Founder & President of Houston Regenerative Medicine. His background in chiropractic care and molecular biology informs his review of regenerative medicine research, program development and patient education.
He reviews research, develops programming and educates patients about the therapies offered by Houston Regenerative Medicine. The clinic’s physicians evaluate patients, recommend treatment and perform medical procedures. Dr. Andrew Hong, MD, serves as Medical Director.
Dr. Cherdack’s approach begins with a clear philosophy: first and foremost, do no harm. He encourages patients to understand their options and discuss the potential benefits and limitations of treatment with the medical team.
The Turning Point
Dr. Cherdack’s path took a transformative turn in 2014 when he witnessed something extraordinary. A patient with a severely degenerated knee, who had already been told that joint replacement was their only option, underwent what was then considered an experimental stem cell procedure. Within months, the improvement in their mobility, pain levels, and quality of life was undeniable.
This experience led Dr. Cherdack to establish Denver Regenerative Medicine in 2015, where he combined the latest advancements in biologic therapy with a patient-centered, whole-body approach. He saw regenerative medicine as a paradigm shift in orthopedic medicine, one that utilizes the body’s inherent healing power to restore cartilage, tendon, and muscle tissue rather than simply managing symptoms or resorting to invasive surgery.
Houston Regenerative Medicine was founded in 2022, extending Dr. Cherdack’s work in regenerative medicine education and program development to Houston.

Development Of The Dual-Source Approach
Under Dr. Cherdack’s direction, Denver Regenerative Medicine developed its dual-source approach, which combines adipose-derived (body-fat) and bone marrow-derived stem cells.
Houston Regenerative Medicine’s physicians use real-time ultrasound guidance for all regenerative injections. This imaging helps the treating physician guide the injection to the intended treatment area. Dr. Cherdack’s role centers on research, program development and education.
